“The object of my interest in this case was the confrontation with high, maturely grown grass in the village of Lokovec, Slovenia. I decided to attack the hill by plaiting the grass in several braids along the slope. The summer heat was blazing, there was no shelter from the sun and the hill was rather steep. Still, after a day, the grass in a small area was conquered, the braids were convincingly shaped.
I looked around and realised that a day’s work was a small drop in the realm of braiding and my intention of conquering the slope was barely met while nature herself was triumphing. I took a nap in the midst of the braids on the welcoming surface of the Mother Earth.”
