Invasion –

Just A Report

2020

fired and glazed clay

installations of varying dimensions

“In Invasion – Just a Report I am particularly interested in the effect that the whole group has on the environment in which it appears. The elements are of one color: black. They act like one body, one entity, one extremely organized and connected group. They appear in places previously occupied with people, but momentarily abandoned. The background changes, the camera observes. The installation has appeared in many different places in my actual environment giving people an opportunity to engage in observing and in some cases also changing the composition according to their own idea. This intervention in the environment is an ongoing event helping me to overcome the uneasiness caused by COVID-19 and other threats of our contemporary era.”

Technique:
Handmade sculpture of one entity, multiple use of press molding technique and finishing the details by
hand.
Bisque firing and glazing in an electric kiln to 120 degrees Centigrade.
Later placing the objects in various types of environment and using camera, video camera and often a
simple phone to take pictures and short videos of the installations. I post the photos on instagram named
“Justareport” in a collage manner to give a broad view of the situation that I have seemingly encountred.
Some photos and videos are also combined in a sound video I am presenting.
Since this is an ongoing process, I expect to make many more additions to the presented artwork.
